Load Index: A numerical code (typically 60-120 for passenger cars) indicating maximum weight capacity per tire. Higher numbers mean greater capacity.

Ply Rating: Originally indicated the number of plies (layers) in the tire. Modern tires use fewer plies but stronger materials. Ratings like 6PR, 8PR, 10PR indicate strength levels - higher is stronger.

Load Range: Letters (C, D, E, F) used mainly for light truck tires. Corresponds to ply ratings and indicates maximum inflation pressure and load capacity.
